New Owner Still Focused On Casual Market

The unknown status of SiN's episodic content has taken a turn for the worse. MumboJumbo CEO Mark Cottam has explained that Ritual has already begun to work on a series of titles for their new owner and that the titles are firmly rooted in the casual genre. Cottam further explained that the purchase was made to enable MumboJumbo to deliver a series of high quality casual games, not to enter the more mainstream market.

What this means is that for the time being SiN's episodic content has been put on hold, after only one of the planned nine episodes was released. Cottman didn't completely rule out the possibility of Ritual working on the series, adding "If there's an opportunity to have them do something on the SiN episodes, we would look at that, but that will not be the focus of the company. The combined companies will focus exclusively on casual, unless opportunities present themselves that we think are strategic from a business standpoint... Again, I wouldn't close the door on [traditional games] but that's not the primary focus."

I remember playing the link-up SiN in an arcade back when it was released.  Was fun to Coop/DM and hadn't really been done before.
